Some Pieces of Advice!

Work from students' strenghts and interests!!

When teaching teens, a variety of aspects must be considered by teachers.
This time, we would like to give you, our dearest cyber teachers, some useful pieces of advice to implement in your classroom, and to take into account if you have to deal with teens.
First of all, you have to know how your students feel about the subject. Secondly, what their English language expectations are.
In order you could atain these 2 main objectives you can consider the following ideas:

  • Give possitive feedback that supports students' beliefs that they can do well.
  • Ensure opportunities for students' success by assigning tasks that are neither too easy nor to difficult.
  • Help students find personal meaning and value in the materials.
  • Create an atmosphere that is open and positive.
  • Help students find that they are valued members of a learning community.
  • Vary your teaching methods. Break the routine by incorporating a variety of teaching activities and methods in your class such as: role play, brainstorming, debates, audiovisual presentations, guest speakers, group work, discussions, and so on.

If you are able to follow these guidelines we are totally sure you will be an effective teacher and what it is more important and significant: you will be stressing your students learning rather than grades and results!

just give them a try!

We hope you enjoy this post!
